Farrol Kahn, who is the organiser, is a member of the Automobile Club Monaco.
He was inspired to found the Gstaad Concours d’Elégance through the Italian art movement, Futurism.
The leader, Filippo Tommaso Emilio Marinetti compared the work of the sculptor Boccioni on a higher level than Nike of Samothrace. “We declare that the splendour of the world has been enriched by a new beauty: the beauty of speed,” he said.
“Speed and beauty of cars have been recognised by museums such as M oMA in New York,” says Farrol Kahn. “Many agree there’s nothing compares with a really fast automobile like the Formula 1 racing car which is an exhibit at MoMA.”
